Fairest: Smart Fitness Mirror
An interactive smart mirror and caliper ecosystem designed to accurately communicate body fat percentage and body shape transformations while motivating users to continue their physical activities.
1. The Problem Space
Many individuals are health conscious and wish to see their health information (including fat percentage) displayed in a clear and digestible manner. Currently, there is only the use of smart scales, skinfold calipers, touch electronic sensors, and watch bands that can roughly calculate body fat.
Fairest exists to answer: What is the best way to visually and accurately communicate body fat percentage and body shape transformations? The overarching goal is habit-forming—to motivate and encourage users to sustain their physical activities.
2. Innovation & UX Strategy
Unlike isolated diagnostic tools, Fairest tracks body fat percentage changes over time to instill positive habit-forming behaviors. By coupling the accuracy of a digital caliper with the ambient visual feedback of a mirror, the product transforms an intimidating metric into an approachable, encouraging journey.
